Partners and Funding

Partners

 

  • Abriachan Forest Trust (AFT)– has been the main collaborative partner along with High Life Highland Adult Learning and Youth Services. AFT has helped fund and collaborate with learners on the animation projects and social enterprise forest market events, assisting with the community woodland event days at Abriachan, tree planting and helping support the main programme of The Lost Museum in different ways. Suzann Barr and Christine Matheson have both helped with forest biodiversity background information for the tree museums and story kits.  Abriachan Forest Trust is responsible for the day to day running of Abriachan Community Woodland where most of the conservation work will be taking place. Income from the forest market social enterprise sales will help fund the planting of some native tree copses at Abriachan.

   

  • High Life Highland Adult Learning Sutherand and Golspie Youth Development Team have helped support adults and young people in Sutherland to take part in the Forest Library project through the youth climate group, story workshops and some workshop events. The in house social enterprise group which runs from Brora Learning Zone (Brora Gallery) have helped with the design and creation of some of the Tree Museums.

 

  • Node Graphics –co-producing, editing and managing special effects for the Lost Museum animation projects

 

Participants and groups:

  •  Brora Learning Zone - various adults and young people (see High Life Highland Info above) who took part in helping with the animation projects, tree museums and social enterprise

  • Evanton Community Woodlands - The Friday Futures Group– providing funding for a family learning story event and work with the Friday Futures Group and Kiltearn Primary School through the Year of Stories funding

 

  • Rosehall Primary School helping collaborate on a forest based Lost Museum event through the forest library, performing one of the stories for parents and families at Rosehall Community Hall and the creation of the Lost Museum of Trees Mosaic Mural at the school with community artist Sally Purdy. The initial Rosehall story workshop and mosaic were  funded by The Lairg and District Learning Centre.

 

  • Rogart Primary School helping collaborate with stories for the Lost Museum Forest Library and Tree Museum Project. Rogart are helping co create the Lost Museum Literacy Board Game for early primary level prototype.

 

  • Dornoch Academy School Link project helping with Forest Library story projects and social enterprise merchandise for the Forest Market.

 

  • Key Housing helping  support students to take part in the Forest Library story workshop

  • Historylinks Museum and The Young Curators participating in the Forest library and local environmental projects

​

  • Support in Mind helping with referrals and support for project

​

  • NHS Occupational Therapy Team helping with referrals and support for projects

 

  • NHS Community Mental Health Team helping with referrals for projects

​

  • LILA (Living in the Landscape) Project – part of the ASAD Arctic Sustainability Arts and Design Network for helping with story exchanges and the creation of stories for the Forest Library

​

The Lost Museum of Trees Project  formed part of my Social Practice Project for the University of the Highlands and Islands MA in Art and Social Practice Postgraduate Course through Shetland College.
